Sir Henry AngestChairman and Chief Executive

 

Appointed to the Board in December 1985. Sir Henry is the Chairman and Chief Executive. He is also a director and Life President of Arbuthnot Latham & Co., Limited of which he was Chairman from 1994 to July 2022. He gained extensive national and international experience as an executive of The Dow Chemical Company and Dow Banking Corporation. He was previously Chairman and a director of Secure Trust Bank PLC, Chairman of the Banking Committee of the London Investment Banking Association and a director of the Institute of Directors. He is a Past Master of the Worshipful Company of International Bankers, where he is still a member of the Court.

 

Andrew Salmon FCAChief Operating Officer

Appointed a Director in March 2004. He is Group Chief Operating Officer and Head of Business Development, having joined the Company in 1997. He is also Chief Executive of Arbuthnot Latham & Co., Limited. He was previously a director of Secure Trust Bank PLC and of Hambros Bank Limited and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG.

James Cobb FCAGroup Finance Director

Joined the Board in November 2008 as Group Finance Director. He is also Finance Director and Deputy Chief Executive of Arbuthnot Latham & Co., Limited. He was previously Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Controller of Citigroup’s Global Consumer Group in Europe, Middle East and Africa and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse.

The Hon Sir Nigel BoardmanIndependent Non-Executive Director

Sir Nigel was appointed a Non-Executive Director in June 2019. He is also a director and, since August 2022, Chairman of Arbuthnot Latham & Co., Limited. He was a partner at the law firm, Slaughter and May from 1982 to 2019.  He is also a non-executive director of Aston Martin Lagonda Global Holdings plc and a director of Mile Group Unlimited and of Glyde Group Unlimited, the holding companies for a group of companies of which he is a trustee and consultant (Associated Beef Products), an Irish based agri-business. Sir Nigel is Chair of the charity Help for Heroes, a trustee and non-executive director of The Medical College of Saint Bartholomew's Hospital Trust, a charity funding medical research, and is Trustee Emeritus and a member of the audit committee for the British Museum.  Sir Nigel was previously a non-executive director at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and chaired its audit committee.


 

 

 

 

 

Ian Dewar FCAIndependent Non-Executive Director

Appointed a Non-Executive Director in August 2015. He is Chairman of the Audit Committee. He was a Partner for 19 years in the Financial Services Practice of KPMG from which he retired in 2012 after 32 years at the firm. He is a non-executive director of Manchester Building Society and was previously Senior Independent Director of Brewin Dolphin Holdings PLC.

Sir Michael Peat


Michael Peat studied law before qualifying as a chartered accountant and becoming a partner with KPMG in 1985. In 1986-87 he undertook a review of the management of the Royal Household and left KPMG in 1993 to devote himself to public duties. During the period to 2011 he was the Royal Household’s Director of Finance and then Keeper of the Privy Purse and Treasurer to the Queen, Receiver General of the Duchy of Lancaster and Principal Private Secretary to The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall. He retired from the Royal Household in 2011.

Sir Alan Yarrow FCSI (Hon)Independent Non-Executive Director

Sir Alan was appointed a Non-Executive Director in June 2016. He spent 37 years with Dresdner Kleinwort until 2009, latterly as Group Vice Chairman and Chairman of the UK Bank. He is a director of Institutional Protection Services Ltd. He is also Vice President of the Royal Mencap Society, Independent Partnership Advisor to James Hambro & Partners, an advisor to Zeamo Inc. (USA) and a member of the Property Trust Board, City & Guilds Art School. Sir Alan is an Alderman, Magistrate and HM Lieutenant of the City of London, a member of the Court of the Fishmongers’ Company and a member of the Takeover Appeal Board. Sir Alan was Lord Mayor of the City of London for the year 2014-15 and was previously Chairman of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

Frederick AngestNon-Executive Director

Appointed a Director in September 2022. He works at Arbuthnot Latham & Co., Limited currently in Credit Risk, having previously worked within Private Banking and Wealth Management.

 

Nicholas Jennings FCASecretary

Appointed Group Company Secretary in July 2018. He was previously Company Secretary of Daily Mail and General Trust plc and of Close Brothers Group plc. He is a Chartered Accountant.
